A $1,000 scholarship will be awarded to all 15 to Finish Scholars who commit to enrolling in at least 12 credit hours each semester.

Al & Emma Lou Lemon Scholarship for Education Students



The Al and Emma Lou Lemon Scholarship was was established to provide funding support for students entering Kankakee Community College.  One scholarships in the amount of $1,000 will benefit (1) student pursuing a career in education.

Anthony Samfay Memorial Scholarship



This scholarship is open to full time students who are sophomores in KCC's law enforcement program with a 2.75 or better GPA.  





Baumgartner State Farm Business Scholarship



The Baumgartner State Farm Business Scholarship was established by Josh Baumgartner to provide funding support for students attending Kankakee Community College. Beginning in the 2024-25 academic year, one scholarship in the amount of $1,000 per year will be awarded. This scholarship can be awarded to a new or returning student who is studying Business. Student must have a 2.5 GPA at time of application. Student does NOT need to be within KCC District 520.





Beta Sigma Phi Scholarship



Student must meet minimum Foundation scholarship criteria and have documentation of community service, reside in Kankakee County, graduate of Kankakee County High School. 





Beulah Cromwell Scholarship



The Beulah Cromwell Scholarship will be awarded to an indistrict student obtaining a 2.5 GPA or higher. This fund will be applied to the tuition, books, and fees of its recipient.





Bill Chipman Business Scholarship








Business Divisional Scholarship



Two nominees will be awarded from each of KCC’s five academic divisions. 






C. Jake & Agnes Gulchinski Scholarship



This scholarship is open to graduates of Kankakee County High School. To be eligible for this scholarship students must:

-Full Time
-Reside in District 520
-have cumulative grade point averages of at least 2.75.

 






C. Max Hoover Memorial Scholarship



This scholarship is open to students who reside in KCC District 520 and meet other scholarship criteria defined by KCC.





Cavalier Scholarship for Academic Excellence



Up to ten ($1,000) scholarships will be awarded to high school seniors planning on attending KCC.





Central Illinois Green Club Agriculture/Horticulture Scholarship



This scholarship is open to full-time or part-time students enrolled in KCC’s Horticulture or Agriculture programs. Students must maintain a minimum 2.5 GPA and receive two letters of reference.






Century Scholars



The Century Scholars Scholarships are awarded to students who demonstrate outstanding academic performance as well as strength of character.






Charles E. Hubbard, Jr. Memorial Scholarship



This scholarship is open to students who are returning students pursuing a degree in welding or the mill wright field. Applicants must maintain a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0, reside within KCC District 520, and demonstrate financial need. Preferred consideration given to students from underrepresented/underserved populations.

Charlton Family Fine Arts Scholarship



This scholarship is open to students pursing their Associates in either Visual or Fine Arts. Student must maintain a minimum 2.5 GPA, and reside in the KCC district. Applicants should include 2-3 jpg images of their artwork with their application. This award will be decided upon quality of work and financial need.






Chris and Jill Pristach Teacher’s Scholarship



This scholarship is open to students seeking a teaching degree with an emphasis in special education. Letters of reference from two teachers and one community member are required.






Chuck Smead Scholarship



Preferred consideration to students enrolled in MSE courses (STEM).





Clancy-Gernon Scholarship



This scholarship is open to graduates of Bishop McNamara High School who maintain a 2.75 or greater GPA.






Commonwealth Credit Union Scholarship



This scholarship is open to Commonwealth Credit Union members or their dependents who are enrolled at KCC. Recipients must attain at least a 2.5 GPA.






Cora S. Speicher Scholarship



This scholarship is open to students who demonstrate financial need, desire, and the motivation to pursue a college education






CSL Behring, L.L.C. Scholarship



This scholarship is open to students in skilled maintenance or laboratory science-related programs at KCC. Must maintain a minimum 3.0 GPA, and reside in KCC district 520. 






Cynthia Steury-Lattz Memorial Scholarship



This scholarship is open to full-time students that have been accepted into the nursing program at KCC.






Dennis and Georgia Hess Scholarship



This scholarship is open to full-time students, and was created to encourage students to enter into environmentally oriented careers such as Forestry, National Park Service, Fish/Game and Wildlife, and/or Department of Natural Resources fields. Must demonstrate financial need.

 






Dennis J. Smith Legacy Scholarship



This scholarship is open to students who maintain a 3.0 GPA, and demonstrate characteristics including leadership qualities, community involvement, personal integrity, a desire to help those facing adversity, and an ability to overcome life’s obstacles. Must be a resident of Kankakee County.






Don James Memorial Scholarship








Donald E. Green Scholarship for Business and Public Service



  • Preference is given to graduates of Kankakee High School
  • Preference given to Kankakee High School Students in the Business Academy or who serve(d) on the student council.
  • 3.0 GPA
  • must be in District 520.





Donald L. Haley Memorial Scholarship



Donald Haley was appointed to the Kankakee Board of Trustees in 1970 and served until 1993.  Mr. Haley realized the importance of an education at an early age.  He resided in Ford County and in order to be able to afford to attend high school, Donald drove a school bus to Collum High.  He picked up students along his route from the east area of Collum.  His future wife was one of those students.  Both Mr. and Mrs. Haley highly value education and that, along with honoring Donald Haley's service to the KCC Board of Trustees, were the main reasons the family continues to offer the scholarship.

This scholarship is to a graduate from Clifton Central, Herscher, or Tri-Point high schools. Special consideration is given to students whose grades are in the mid-range.






Dorothy and Walter Franklin Scholarship



Awarded to fulltime students who are pursuing an agriculture or nursing degree who have at least a 2.5 GPA. Students must be in District 520.






Dorothy W. Franklin GED Scholarship



This scholarship is awarded to a GED recipient pursuing a degree. 






Dotty Lagesse Scholarship



This scholarship is for both new and returning KCC students studying Nursing, Health Careers, or Business. To qualify, applicants must reside in the KCC 520 district, maintain a GPA of 3.0 or greater, show financial need, and be a working parent with legal custody of a minor child.






Dr. Victor Hopper Scholarship



This scholarship is awarded to students of KCC pursuing a degree in either Nursing or Education. Must maintain a minimum 2.5 GPA, and must reside in the KCC district.






Dreamer Scholarship



  • Awarded to a Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) student who has need for tuition, fees, and books.

Eastern Illinois Law Enforcement Administrators Association Criminal Justice/Law Enforcement Scholarship



The EILEAA is establishing this annual criminal justice scholarship to encourage future students to enter the field of criminal justice and to honor the service of all law enforcement officers.

Eileen Van Voorst Memorial Scholarship



This scholarship is awarded to current year high school graduates from Pilot, Norton, Salinas, Essex or Round Grove Townships.






Elmer & Bonnie Gilbert Scholarship



This Scholarship is for KCC students who graduate from Momence High School.






Fegan Family Nursing Scholarship



The Fegan Family Scholarship was established in 2017.  Two awards in the amount of $1000/ each will be awarded to qualifying nursing students.  Students can attend PT/FT but must have a 3.0 gpa to be considered. In District 520





Fegan Family Welding Scholarship



 $1,000 scholarship for welding students.

First Financial Bank Scholarship



Preferred consideration given to students demonstrating financial need or first-generation college students. This scholarship is designated to benefit new or returning students in the business or accounting departments with a 3.0 GPA who present financial need.





Frances Wertz Memorial Scholarship for Education



Students pursuing a career in education

Francis & Jean Smith Scholarship



This scholarship is open to all KCC students who have completed the FASFA or who can otherwise document financial need.






Frey Family GED Scholarship



Available to new and returning students who earned their GED through KCC.






Frey Family Scholarship for Respiratory Students



This scholarship is available to new and returning students enrolled in the KCC Respiratory Therapist program. Selection is based on academic performance, acceptance into the Respiratory Therapist program, and quality of application.






George Kreider Memorial Scholarship



This scholarship is open to students in the business, technical, or health career fields. 






Gerry Sikma Scholarship



The Gerry Sikma scholarship serves as a tribute to Gerry Sikma’s remarkable traits: dedication, passion, integrity, and work ethic. This scholarship aims to support students attending Kankakee Community College who demonstrates these qualities, by providing them with an advocate and financial support to pursue their educational goals. By upholding the Sikma name and displaying those outstanding qualities, recipients of the scholarship continue Gerry Sikma’s legacy of excellence.

Heritage Prairie Renewable Scholarship



This scholarship is for students in the Electrical Engineering Technology-Renewable Energy Track. Students must be in district 520. 





High School Art Exhibit Scholarship



This scholarship is awarded to a high school student selected from among the participants of KCC’s annual high school art exhibition. Applicants should include 2-3 jpg images of their artwork with their application.This award will be based upon quality of work and financial need. 






HomeStar Insurance Services General Studies Scholarship



This scholarship is awarded to a resident of Kankakee County, and must demonstrate financial need, positive leadership, character in school and community activism. Available to KCC students enrolled in Arts, Science, Business, English, History, Mathematics; all Health Careers degrees; and all Human and Public Service Degrees. Applicants must submit a 500 word essay answering the question “How have you provided leadership or involvement in community, school, and/or church activities and how do you plan to use this experience in the future?”






HomeStar Title Company Business & Information Technology Scholarship



This scholarship is open to students who reside in Kankakee County, demonstrate financial need, positive leadership characteristics, and are enrolled in a KCC Business or Information Technology related associate degree program. Applicants must submit a 500 word essay answering the question “How have you provided leadership or involvement in community, school, and/or church activities? Also, please share how do you plan to use this experience in the future?”






Humanities and Social Sciences Divisional Scholarship



Two nominees will be recommended by each of KCC’s five academic divisions. The top two candidates from the divisions will receive the Century Scholarship instead of this award.

Image Group Scholarship



This scholarship is open to to individuals enrolled in the Fine Arts program at KCC. Student must have an academic emphasis on photography and intend to transfer to Olivet Nazarene University to complete their Bachelors in Photography. Must maintain a 3.0 cumulative high school GPA (4.0 scale) and maintain 3.0 GPA at KCC.






Jace Lillis Memorial Scholarship



This scholarship is open to a Bradley-Bourbonnais Community High School graduate enrolled in a business degree program at KCC.






Jack Sarawatz Veterans Scholarship



This scholarship is open to students who are a disabled veteran, veteran, spouse, or dependent of a veteran of the United States Armed Forces. Candidates must maintain a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale, reside within the KCC district, and be enrolled full-time. Preferred consideration will be given to disabled veterans (disability status will be verified).






Jerald Hoekstra Family Scholarship



This scholarship gives preference to residents of the St. Anne High School and elementary school districts.






Jerry G Memorial STEM Scholarship



  • Preference will be given to a Math major. If there are no math major candidates, then secondary preference to a STEM major.
  •  Special consideration given to students with financial need.

John Ennen, Jr. Memorial Scholarship








John F. Michela Scholarship



This scholarship is awarded to participants of the Kankakee County Drug Court program who have completed drug rehabilitation and education and must maintain a 2.0 GPA.






Kankakee Community College President's Scholarship



This scholarship is open to returning KCC students who maintain a 3.5 or greater cumulative GPA, are enrolled full time, demonstrate financial need, and reside within KCC District 520. This scholarship will be awarded to two students. 






Kankakee Kultivators Horticulture Scholarship



This scholarship is open to both part-time or full-time students who are new or returning to the Horticulture program at KCC. To qualify, applicants must reside in District 520, and maintain a minimum GPA of 3.0 or greater. 
 






Kankakee River Valley Exchange Club Scholarship



This scholarship is open to students pursuing a degree in nursing, radiology, respiratory, or medical lab technology, and must maintain a 3.0 GPA. Based upon satisfactory progress and meeting the award’s criteria.






KCC Alumni Association Scholarship

KCC Faculty Association Scholarship



This scholarship is open to students who have completed at least 24 semester hours at KCC at the time of application. Students will be chosen based upon academic excellence, quality of application, the applicant’s references, and their respective narratives.






KCC Foundation Student Liaison Scholarship



The student liaison will be responsible for attending all Foundation Full Board meeting, giving an update report about student activities and event on campus, and will be looked to for student perspective and concerns. An additional scholarship will be awarded to the Student liaison.





KHS Booster Club-Make a Difference Scholarship

This scholarship is open to full-time students pursuing Business degrees and playing a sport.






Lester & Virginia Soucie Memorial Scholarship



This scholarship is focused on community service. Preference is given to students who have volunteered to benefit public schools or have provided classroom assistance.






Lisa Dugan Annual Community Service Scholarship for GED Graduates



The Lisa Dugan Annual Community Service Scholarship for GED Graduates was established to provide funding for GED graduates to attend KCC. Applicants must be dedicated to public and or community service. A short answer essay is required.






Lucille W. Devine Memorial Scholarship



The Lucille W. Devine Memorial Scholarship was established by the funds bequeathed by Lucille W. Devine as an endowed scholarship intended to provide funding support for paralegal students attending Kankakee Community College. Should KCC in the future ever reinstate a paralegal and/or legal assistant program candidates from those programs have priority in consideration.

This scholarship is for a new or returning student with a 2.5 GPA who resides in district 520. Preference given to students who demonstrate financial need, have overcome hardships, or can demonstrate community involvement.

Maureen Bushman Scholarship for Education



This scholarship is open to new or returning students who are pursuing a career in teaching, demonstrate financial need, and maintain a minimum GPA of a 2.0 or greater.






Maureen Bushman Scholarship for Nursing



This scholarship is open to new or returning students pursuing a career in nursing who demonstrate financial need, and maintain a minimum GPA of a 2.0 or greater.






Mildred Smith Memorial Scholarship



This scholarship is open to active members, or immediate family members of active members of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Kankakee.






Milner Broadcasting – WVLI/ WIVR/WFAV Scholarship



This scholarship is open to all students who meet KCC’s general scholarship requirements. Applicants will be judged on meeting KCC enrollment requirements and merit of the applicant’s narrative. The winner will be contacted and subsequently announced on-the air.






Minnetta Fiene Memorial Scholarship



This scholarship is awarded to Momence High School graduates selected at the discretion of KCC.

Pam and Rich Lottinville Teacher’s Scholarship



This scholarship is open to students pursuing a degree in teaching, and must exhibit excellent work habits, high academic achievement, and characteristics of leadership, cooperation, and service to others. Preference given to graduates of Donovan and St. Anne Community High Schools. Applicants must submit an essay of up to 1,000 words regarding their values, their qualities that are essential to teaching, and the lessons learned from service to others. Applicants must submit letters of reference from two teachers and one community member.






Patricia M. Paul Memorial Scholarship



$2,000 annual scholarship to benefit selected student.  Selection based on applicant answer to essay question #1.





Patricia Martin Memorial Scholarship



The Patricia Martin Memorial Scholarship Fund was established by her family, particularly her daughter Jill Smith and her son-in-law Dennis Smith, as a tribute to Mrs. Martin’s dedication as a nurse, her life achievements and her interest in helping other adult women returning to school to pursue careers in the health professions.

Preferred consideration given to students with family caregiving responsibilities, demonstrating financial need, and returning to school to earn a degree in a health-related field.






Patsy A. Lower/LEX Scholarship



The Patsy A. Lower/LEX Scholarship was established by the Alumni of the KCC Chapter of Lambda Epsilon Chi (LEX) National Honor Society in Paralegal/Legal Studies as an endowed scholarship. Those alumni wish to acknowledge the significant contributions of Patsy A. Lower to the KCC paralegal community. This scholarship provides funding to support students attending Kankakee Community College pursuing a degree. Should KCC in future ever again have a paralegal and/or legal Assistant program candidates from those programs have priority in consideration.





Peg Reeves Scholarship



This scholarship is open to sophomores who have earned 30 credit hours, are pursuing a transfer degree in a baccalaureate program, and have a 3.0 or higher GPA at the time of application. Preferred consideration given to female students.






PEO Chapter JR Scholarship



Preferred consideration for students with unique financial needs.

Phil Grubermann Memorial Scholarship



This scholarship was created in memory of Phil Grubermann. Phil was a well loved student in the respiratory program. 

This scholarship will be awared to two students, one new and one returning student to the KCC respiratory program. Applicants must be full-time, have a minimum GPA of 3.5. Preference will be given to those applicants who are members of the Ventilator Society. Full-Time Consideration is given to those in need. Does not need to be in district.





Psychology Scholarship



The Psychology Scholarship was established by psychology professors Debbie Podwika and Cari Stevenson to provide funding support for students attending Kankakee Community College pursuing a degree in psychology.





Raymond and Carmella Azzarelli General Academic Memorial Scholarship



The Raymond and Carmella Azzarelli General Academic Memorial Endowed Scholarship was created to assist new or returning KCC students  with at least a 3.0 GPA.

Richard Gibbs Memorial Scholarship



This scholarship is open to students pursuing a Business degree. Preferred consideration will be given to graduates of Bishop McNamara High School. 2.5 GPA

This scholarship is open to Visual or Fine Arts majors. Selection also based on artistic talent. Applicants should include 2-3 jpg images of their artwork with their application. This scholarship will be awarded based upon quality of work and financial need.

Robert Worth Family Horticulture Scholarship



This scholarship is open to full-time or part-time students seeking careers in Horticulture. Applicants must maintain a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.5 on a 4.0 scale, reside within the KCC district, and should demonstrate financial need.






Rochelle & Ivan Meyer Endowed Fund for Cultural Diversity



Preferred consideration given to students who have demonstrated a commitment to promoting cultural understanding and diversity through community involvement , have overcome hardship, or demonstrate financial need. 






Rudy & Margaret Minton Memorial Scholarship



This scholarship is open to residents of St. Anne. Preference given to applicants pursuing studies in Law Enforcement, education, Paramedic, civic, and related occupations.






Sara Lagacy Memorial Nursing Scholarship



This scholarship is open to students enrolled in the KCC associate degree Nursing Program.

Health Careers St. Mary's

The St. Mary's Scholarship was created in 2022 to help up to 5 Health Careers Students. 5 Scholarships can be awarded for up to $1,000 each. Students must reside in District 520 and have a min GPA of 2.5 at the time of application.





Steven L. Smith & Kathryn A. Smith Entrepreneurship Scholarship



This scholarship is open to students enrolled in Business and/or Marketing degree programs.






Technology Divisional Scholarship



Two nominees will be recommended by each of KCC’s five academic divisions. The top two candidates from the divisions will receive the Century Scholarship instead of this award.






The Foundation Test Scholarship








The Hundred Club Law Enforcement/Paramedic Scholarship



Applicants pursuing certificates or associate degrees in either Law Enforcement or Paramedic. Recipients must maintain a 2.5 GPA or higher, demonstrate financial need, and be a graduate of a high school within the KCC district. Preferred consideration given to students who plan to work and live in the Kankakee community after graduating.






Tom and Judy O’Brien “Family Comes First” Scholarship



This scholarship is awarded to new or existing KCC students enrolled in a Health Careers program that are balancing classes and family obligations. Preferred consideration will be given to female students. Applicants must have a family at home and demonstrate financial need.

William F. Brandenburg Scholarship



Scholarships in the amount of $5,000 will be awarded to students with at least a 2.0 GPA and are able to summarize how receiving a $5,000 scholarship would change his or her life.





Zeglis Family Momence Scholarship



This scholarship is open to graduates of Momence High School.
